Women Safety. Where are We?

I don’t know what to say about the outset of rape culture. Yes, rape, and it has become a culture now. 20 years back also, rape cases were not that easy to be found in newspapers. But look at the newspapers, tabloids, and TV channels today. There is never a day when I don’t get to know about a girl getting raped.

I don’t have any idea about the mindset of rapists or molesters. Not only young girls but teenagers, aged women, newborn girls, even little animals become their prey.

According to me, it is not about extreme sexual urge but their ego to oppress the opposite gender. It is a goal of the rapists to show their power over the female gender.

If we observe the past, we’ll find that women used to be tagged as sex objects. Today also, the concept remains the same to many. Yes, there are terms like women empowerment, stop gender-based discrimination, equal rights. But somehow, these terms don’t get implemented in real life.

In this era also, a large number of people never allow their daughters to work in night shifts or be outdoor late at night. And all these happen because of the people with sick mentality.

In my opinion, rape culture can be shielded by a proper education system that would teach boys and girls to respect each other. Girls should learn self-defense to protect themselves in problematic situations.
